SCOUT is a SaaS, iOS, and web application designed and developed by Appiskey for our clients’ inspection companies. It is a straightforward yet highly sophisticated platform that allows users to receive inspector jobs at the ease of their mobile phones and other digital devices.

A number of inspection companies in the US are currently using this system and can successfully vouch for its authenticity and usability.

SCOUT also lets our clients take samples and observations from the property owners for the inspections and send them to the relevant lab for tests and results. Our team has ensured to develop an active monitoring and capable system that can conveniently analyze the activity on both mobile and web applications.

Challenges We Faced

The first challenge we faced was understanding the complex rules of the inspection companies. It might not appear so, but in reality, inspection companies operate quite differently from other businesses and under much stricter and compounded regulations.

We also needed to entirely understand our target audience, their needs, requirements, and expectations and map the UX of the platform accordingly.
To reduce the complexity, we needed to change the architecture of the entire application and make it seem more approachable.
There was also a significant need to reduce the complexity of the application and make it more user-friendly so clients can easily navigate through it.

We Review The Solution Given By Us

We carefully and thoroughly studied all the challenges and came up with a unique and carefully strategized idea of an MVVM-based SCOUT application. We will be rewriting the entire architecture and implementing the web API calls in every controller.

We have developed the SCOUT platform considering the parallel development of mobile and web apps. We also customize each inspection report while maintaining a dynamic data population. Our SCOUT app is your most accessible route to automation and higher productivity in your inspection company.

The purpose behind transferring to MVVM was the allowance for separation between the user interfaces from the application logic. MVVM breaks down the application into modular components. This improves application maintenance, makes application evolution simpler, and lowers the risk of obsolescence. Under MVVM, the View references and View model has a minimal dependency on the Rest APIs. The View Model is also relatively easier to unit test than event-driven code.
